Dagli anni 90 ci sono dubbi su cosa vogliano dire le lyrics della famosa canzone degli Oasis. La parola, infatti, anche se letteralmente vorrebbe dire “muro delle meraviglie”, pare non abbia quel significato per la band.

I fratelli Gallagher non hanno mai nascosto la loro passione per i Beatles e secondi alcuni Wonderwall è proprio un’ispirazione al primo album solista di George Harrison intitolato Wonderwall Music.

Sono stati anche intervistati per saperne di più e pare che il fatto che nessuno sapesse cosa significa la canzone fosse previsto e parte del successo.

Liam si è limitato a dire che “wonderwall può essere qualsiasi cosa, è solo una bella parola”. Noel è rimasto sulla stessa linea ma confermando le supposizioni sull’ispirazione ai Beatles affermando “dove abitavo avevo un poster di Wonderwall Music e così pensai, you’re my wonderwall, suona fantastico, nessuno saprà cosa significhi”.

Ci sono comunque alcune interpretazioni delle lyrics, tra cui tra le più diffuse che il significato sia qualcosa di simile a “sei la mia ancora di salvezza”.
